Women’s high school volleyball teams from around the country will soon gather at Union College on the weekend of October 15-17, 2015, for the annual Union College Invitational Volleyball Tournament 2015. The tournament will continue the seeded pool play format adopted in the 2013 event.
The tournament games will begin on Thursday, Oct. 15, at 10:30 a.m. with 11 teams. The teams will be divided into three pools and play three games to determine placement in four pools for pool play on Friday. The top three teams from each pool on Thursday will become a pool on Friday, the second place teams will become another pool, and the same with third and fourth place teams. Each pool will play each other on Friday to determine seeding for the championship tournament bracket that will start with one game Friday afternoon and then continue Saturday night.
Games will take place in the Thunderdome on Union College’s campus, at the College View Academy gym (5240 Calvert St.) and at the Lincoln Racquet Club (5300 Old Cheney Rd.), with the addition of the Calvert Comunity Center (4500 Stockwell St.) on Saturday night.
