Best known for his appearance on season 2 of the hit NBC singing competition show The Voice, Anthony Evans will bring his pop and R&B infused worship music to Union College Family Worship tonight, April 17, 2015, in the College View Seventh-day Adventist Church.
After achieving notoriety in popular music, Evans had to come to grips with what it means to be a Christian singer. The son of a pastor, Evans grew up singing in church settings, but had to learn how to create balance when he was invited to Los Angeles after his The Voiceappearance. He recorded with high profile artists including CeeLo Green, Celine Dion and Mariah Carey and eventually became a producer for The Voice.
“I’m an artist that’s wants to infiltrate and influence broader than the four walls of the church,” he said in an interview with Jeannie Law on breathecast.com. “I’m God’s representative in the field of art.”
Evans has released seven albums, including Real Life/Real Worship in 2014.
The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of the College View Seventh-day Adventist Church located at the corner of 48th and Prescott on the campus of Union College. Door open at 7:00 p.m. This concert is free and open to the public.
