The Spencerville Adventist Academy Hornets from Spencerville, Md, won the 2017 Union College Invitational Basketball Tournament by edging out the Ozark Adventist Academy Skyhawks from Gentry, Ark., in the championship game by a score of 78-63 in the men’s bracket.
In the women’s bracket, the Campion Academy Cougars from Loveland, Colo. defeated the Ozark Skyhawks by a score of 50-40 to take the title.
The annual basketball tournament, hosted by Union College, featured men’s and women’s teams from 10 Seventh-day Adventist high schools across the country—and one from Pohnpei. Each team participated in a round-robin tournament on Wednesday through Friday, followed by a single-elimination championship tournament on Saturday night and Sunday.
