Students from academies and high schools across the Mid-America territory will descend on the Union College campus this week for the 66th Annual Music Festival, held January 30 – February 2.
Each Seventh-day Adventist academy from a nine-state area surrounding Nebraska will send their top instrumental musicians to join the festival band and orchestra performing on Saturday, Feb. 2, at 5:00 p.m. in the College View Seventh-day Adventist Church sanctuary. Each school’s musical groups will be featured in a concert on Friday night, Feb. 1, at 7:30 p.m. Both concerts will be webcast live at www.ucollege.edu/uTV
The Union College Music Festival is designed to help students improve their musical ability, bond with and learn from students at other schools and get to know Union College. While this year’s event—under the direction of Dr. Kurt Miyashiro, professor of music—will feature instrumental music, the focus shifts every other year between vocal and instrumental performance.
All performances are free and open to the public.
