The Warrior soccer and volleyball teams hopes to kick off their season on Sept. 11 at 3:30 p.m. with home games at Speedway Village (soccer) and the volleyball game (volleyball) in the Thunderdome.

UPDATE (Sept. 8): These two games have been moved to Thursday, October 1.

All games in the Thunderdome will be webcast live on UTV.

Schedules are subject to change due to COVID

The athletic department has developed extensive plans to keep the athletes safe as Union attempts to limit the spread of illness—including testing the athletics and changing practice plans.

Based on  medical and legal counsel, cancellations or postponement of games will be decided based on the information provided at CovidActNow.org. If any of the teams scheduled to play are located in a county that is “at risk of outbreak” (orange) or “active or imminent outbreak” (red), games will be cancelled or postponed—sometimes as little as 24 hours before start time.

Currently Lincoln is in the “at risk of outbreak” (orange) category, which means this week’s games may have to be rescheduled unless the status changes to yellow next week. Speedway Village is outdoors, so fans are welcome to attend if they wear masks and maintain proper physical distance. If Lincoln is in the yellow category, only Union students will be allowed in the stands at the Thunderdome—along with the visiting soccer team if they are present.
