As COVID-19 continues to spread throughout the country, Union College plans to continue implementing the pandemic policies in the spring that have helped keep coronavirus infections to a minimum on campus this semester.
This will include an adjustment to the Spring 2021 break schedule. Union will begin and end the semester on the originally scheduled dates (January 11 – May 5), and the new plan includes some three-day weekends—such as the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday weekend.
However, instead of having a regular spring and winter break, the break days will be spread out throughout the semester.
“This will give our students and faculty time off from classes, but encourage everyone to stay close to campus in order to limit the spread of coronavirus and ensure the health and safety of our campus community,” explained Dr. Vinita Sauder, president of Union College.
Here is the new schedule for break days for Spring 2021:
- January 18 (Monday) — Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
- February 12 (Friday)
- February 25 (Thursday)
- March 12 (Friday)
- March 23 (Tuesday)
- April 5 (Monday)
- April 21 (Wednesday)
The full college schedule can also be seen on the major events list and on the college calendar.
