Union is the only Adventist university named for an idea rather than a person or place, and we take that idea seriously: uniting together for a higher purpose. When our Union opened its doors in 1891, our first president, W.W. Prescott, read Colossians 2:2-3:

My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. (NIV)

Union means we’re in this together — “encouraged in heart and united in love.” Our strength is in our teamwork: a world-wide network of students and alumni joyfully pursuing God's calling.

As university administrators, our focus is supporting others — students, employees, alumni and our communities. We provide resources and foster the unique environment that allows those around us to shine. As we work to empower both students and employees to learn, serve and lead, we lean on our faith and our community, supporters like you united in love and purpose.
