Travel reimbursement is available for prospective students who have applied at uau.edu/apply
We are happy to offer up to $250 for each prospective student, plus up to an additional $250 for one parent/guardian of the prospective student in travel reimbursement for attending a first time hosted campus visit.
Some dates are marked "closed" for various reasons. This is our way of avoiding scheduling on days that will not be beneficial to you. You can still drop by our campus, but it will be difficult for us to give you the attention you deserve. Refer to the calendar on the previous page to avoid choosing closed dates. We do not offer travel reimbursement during closed dates. We want you to have a first-rate visit and experience Union at its best!
We are located at 3800 S. 48th Street in Lincoln, Nebraska. We can pick you up from the airports in Lincoln or Omaha, of from the Amtrak station in Lincoln. Here's a Google Maps link.
Going to the scheduled appointments (admissions procedures, scholarships, financial services, campus tour and academic advising) is critical in seeing what Union can do for you! Your time with us at Union and in Lincoln will also be filled with opportunities to attend on-campus and occasionally off-campus activities. Let us know what your plans are and we can offer things for you to do, or if you have plans of your own outside of the scheduled appointments (which will take 3-4 hours), the rest of your visit timeline will be left free for you to do as you please!
Your consideration in giving a two weeks notice prior to your visit is greatly appreciated. This insures that your time with us is enjoyable and that you are able to meet with the people necessary to get the information that you need.
You are free to stay with us as long as you like. Be aware that if you stay longer than 3 days and 2 nights, expenses for the Union experience (food and lodging) are on you. Additional housing arrangements will need to be made or a dean informed if there is a friend on campus with whom you will be staying. If you would like to know hotels are in the area, check them out here.
You are free to come from any country to visit us! On-campus food and lodging is on us; however, all travel arrangements/expenses (travel visa, flight costs, etc.) will need to be made by you. Please work with us to confirm which traveling dates are best. Once you have your visa, we will begin making appointments. When these arrangements are made by you, then we welcome your visit and look forward to seeing you.
We provide food and lodging for a prospective student and a parent for up to two nights and three days on campus. However, visitors who are not prospective students, will not receive airfare reimbursement. Let us know who all will be coming and appropriate accommodations will be provided.
Give us a call at least two weeks in advance and confirm your preferred dates. Once dates are confirmed you will need to buy tickets or make necessary travel arrangements (we will set up all of your on-campus accommodations). Last minute airfare can get expensive, so plan ahead! After reserving your flight, e-mail us a copy of your flight itinerary. This will allow us to have your reimbursement ready when you arrive and also make arrangements for you to be picked up from the airport, if necessary.
You are asked to leave your fuzzy friends (and non-fuzzy pets for that matter) at home. While on campus, you are welcome to enjoy our friendly squirrels, rabbits and other on-campus "pets."
Please call us at 402.486.2504 as soon as you know your plans will be changing.
