Equity in Athletics

The Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act is a federal law passed in 1994 requiring all colleges and universities to publicly report data comparing the funding and opportunities available to male and female athletes and coaches. Transparency allows students to advocate for more equitable treatment, and because all schools must report the same data, direct comparisons can be drawn between institutions by prospective students.

Please note that Union College's largest athletic team, the Gymnaires, offers academic credit and performs rather than competing. Because it is not a varsity sport, Union's gymnastics coaches and athletes are not included in this data.
