Steven Hutchison, an alumnus of Union College with degrees in Music Education and Spanish (2011), earned his Master of Music Education from the University of Kansas in 2016. With more than 12 years of service in the Mid-America Union, Steven specializes in teaching musicality through performance and integrating technology into music education.
An award-winning educator and composer, Steven's achievements include the LMTA Composition Contest and the John P. Sousa Award. He has presented at the Kansas Music Educators Association (KMEA) conference and the North American Division (NAD) Educators Convention. His academic work includes a thesis on how providing high school band musicians with the score affects their performance.
Steven is a member of NSBA, NMEA, and NAfME, and actively explores the intersection of web development and music synthesis. Bilingual and tech-savvy, he prepares students to excel in the modern music landscape.
