Mid-America Union Church Employment Scholarship

$40,000 toward your Union education

Do you feel called to serve as a full-time employee of the Seventh-day Adventist Church? The new Mid-America Ministry Scholarship will help fund your Union Adventist University education so you can prepare for a rewarding career as a pastor, educator or accounting and IT support. Recipients will receive up to $40,000 toward their education at Union Adventist University and have a guaranteed job after graduation at a Seventh-day Adventist organization in the Mid-America Union territory.

The scholarship is dispersed in the spring of each year over four years — up to $5,000 in the freshman and sophomore years, and up to $15,000 in the junior and senior years.

How to qualify

NOTE: The deadline for Fall 2024 has passed. If you are planning to enroll as a freshman in Fall 2025, you may apply any time.

  • Declare a major in theology, education, accounting or information systems. You will be required to stay in the major to continue receiving the scholarship.
  • Be a freshman enrolling at Union for the first time in Fall 2025. (NOTE: you must pay the confirmation deposit to be considered for the scholarship.)
  • Apply for the scholarship. It is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, so apply right away (use the form below).
  • Priority goes to students from Mid-America (the states surrounding Union).
  • You must work on campus a minimum average of 10 hours per week (over a semester) and apply 50% of your earnings to your school bill.
  • Once approved, sign a participation agreement that includes certain participation criteria for each major.
  • Work at least one internship at a Mid-America Union institution during their time in the program (if one is available).
  • Sign a scholarship agreement to work in a Mid-America Union conference or institution for four years after graduation — which means a guaranteed job!

Note: This is an add-on scholarship that will be applied after your federal grants and Union College scholarships up to the cost of attendance at Union (tuition, fees, housing and food).
