Mid-America Union Church Employment Scholarship

$20,000 toward your Union education

Do you feel called to serve as a full-time employee of the Seventh-day Adventist Church? The Mid-America Ministry Scholarship will help fund your Union Adventist University education so you can prepare for a rewarding career as a pastor, educator or accounting and IT support. Recipients will receive up to $20,000 toward their education at Union Adventist University and have the inside track on a job after graduation at a Seventh-day Adventist organization in the Mid-America Union territory.

The scholarship is dispersed equally over four years — $2,500 in the fall and spring semesters over the freshman through senior years.

How to qualify

NOTE: The priority application deadline for Mid-America Union students is April 15, 2026, and the final deadline is July 15, 2026.

  • Declare a major in theology, education, accounting or information systems. You will be required to stay in the major to continue receiving the scholarship.
  • Be a freshman enrolling at Union for the first time in Fall 2026. (NOTE: you must be accepted to Union and pay the confirmation deposit to be considered for the scholarship.)
  • Apply for the scholarship. Priority will go to Mid-America Union members and academy students prior to the April 15 deadline. But after that, it is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, so apply right away (use the form below).
  • You must work on campus a minimum average of 10 hours per week (over a year) and apply 50% of your earnings to your student account (if you have a balance).
  • Once approved, sign a participation agreement that includes certain participation criteria for each major.
  • Work at least one internship at a Mid-America Union institution during their time in the program (if one is available).
  • Sign a scholarship agreement to work in a Mid-America Union conference or institution for four years after graduation — which means a guaranteed job!

Note: This is an add-on scholarship that will be applied after your federal grants, outside scholarships, educational subsidy, and Union scholarships up to the amount of Union charges for the year.
