Earn more for working on campus with a scholarship match!

Paying for education can be challenging — no matter your income. Union Adventist University is committed to making your education affordable and helping you be prepared to succeed both on campus and after you graduate. The new SAVE Scholarship is a way to earn more to help pay for school while you gain valuable work experience as you train for the career of your dreams.

The value of work—matched

The SAVE Scholarship is a program that provides at a 50% match, up to $1,500, to the on-campus work earnings you apply to your student account. Thanks to gifts from generous donors, the Scholarship Accrual Via Employment (SAVE) Scholarship is a great way to reduce your educational costs and limit your student loan debt.

The SAVE scholarship has a limited number of slots, so it is important to apply early.

All scholarships slots are full for the 2024-2025 school year, so we will no longer be considering new applications.

Qualifications

We believe a variety of work experiences is one great way to be ready to thrive after you graduate, so the qualifications for the SAVE Scholarship are pretty simple:

• First-time Union student — You can be a freshman or transfer student as long as you haven't attended Union before.
• Need financial assistance — If you haven’t been able to find other methods of covering your educational costs, you may qualify for the SAVE scholarship.
• Willing to work on campus—Union Adventist University offers hundreds of on-campus jobs including cleaning, grading, designing managing, and many more. You will definitely be able to find something that suits you. (See open positions on our student job board.)

Program requirements

Every program has some fine print. Here's what you need to know:

• You must apply at least 50% (up to 100%) of your on-campus earnings to your student account. The scholarship will then match at least 50% of the amount you put on your student account. The more you apply, the higher the scholarship match percentage.
• You must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
• You must maintain a minimum average of 10 work hours per week.
• You will not be allowed to pull funds from your student account unless you have a credit balance.
• The SAVE scholarship will be put into your account as one lump sum at the end of each semester.
• Monthly SAVE scholarship reports will be emailed to you so that you can keep track of your SAVE earnings.
• Apply before the deadline! (Sept. 9 for the 2024-2025 school year).

How much will I save?

Union Adventist University campus jobs typically pay the Nebraska minimum wage — currently $12 per hour. However, certain campus jobs pay more. When school is in session, you're allowed to work up to 20 hours per week (40 during breaks). To qualify and to maintain eligibility for the SAVE Scholarship, you must apply at least 50% of your earnings directly to your student account.
